MaxSHOT 3D is a photogrammetric camera that functions as an Optical Coordinate Measuring System. It adds the accuracy and speed of photogrammetry to the wide range of applications already possible with Creaform technologies, especially when it comes to larger parts.
It's user-friendly processing software allows even those new to photogrammetry to quickly and easily generate a high accuracy positioning model of an object based on a series of photos.
All the user has to do is simply place a few coded targets and uncoded targets either on the object to be measured or in its environment. The user then takes several blocks of convergent photos and launch the bundle adjustment process to create a high accuracy positioning model.
Creaform's 3D scanners and optical CMM are able to automatically use the high accuracy positioning model to determine their relative position to the part. From there onwards, the user can create 3D scans (with the Handyscan 3D or MetraSCAN) or probe to measure geometric features (with the HandyPROBE). In some cases, the positioning model itself would be sufficient for the end-user's intended use, without the scanning or probing.
